Every hostel owner should do two things:
1) Mystery shop a stay in their own hostel to know what it's missing.
2) Stay at Pacific House to see what is possible.
All the little touches add up. Soap dispensers in every shower; curtains around every bunk. Charger port and reading light at every bunk. Cafe attached on premises with discounts if you're staying there. Plus free events every day like walking tours, board games, wine and cheese night. The building is beautiful - larger central staircase. Heritage feel with modern amenities. The location is also great - a short walk to good tourist attractions like the gallery and botanical gardens, the CBD. But also in a quiet little tucked away spot that feels safe. The staff are great too. Couldn't recommend it enough.

The vibe is great, it is such a fun, lively and social hostel, honestly the best hostel I've been to. It's so easy to make friends, you have free breakfast, and a whole kitchen available to use. They also give you a fridge bag and you have pantry space in case you're looking for a long time stay. They always have free group activities (some that have free food) and it is easy to get along with other guests as well as the staff. they are so welcoming. It is very clean, and safe. Not to mention they have a coffee shop/ restaurant attached to the Hostel. I will 100% be booking again next time I am in Sydney.

I thought the Pacific House was fantastic!! It is a recently refurbished heritage building with exceptionally clean, with very bright, stylish decor. It has spacious and pleasant rooms with new carpet and very comfortable bunk beds which have a curtain surround for privacy. Pacific House has a great location as its across the road from the Sydney Domain and Botanical gardens which contain the Art Galleries and State Library. Excellent, friendly 24-hour reception service and free activities for guests including yoga on Saturday morning and free wine and cheese platters in the common room for guests on a Friday night. This is by far the best hostel I have ever stayed in, and it exceeded my expectations in every way. I will be staying there again when I return to Sydney, and I highly recommend it to travellers of any age.
